Kyle Helvey is the Co-Founder and CEO of GCPD.
Mr. Helvey is a military brat who grew up in several countries in Europe as well as the United States of America. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, Southern Arizona Campus, and a Master of Business Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He has completed protocol training courses at a number of schools including The Protocol School of Washington and The African Institute of Protocol. He has a certificate in Project Management from Cornell University and a Mastering Design Thinking certificate with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a graduate of Army Design Methodology and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt continuous improvement training.
Mr. Helvey began his career with the Air Force, where he served in his first Protocol position, before separating to work with the Department of Defense as a civil servant. In that role, he worked in nearly every protocol position, from bottom-to-top, for a handful of organizations. He started as a Protocol Assistant at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies before being promoted multiple times, first to a Protocol Specialist and then to Deputy Chief of Protocol. During that time, he became one of the very few protocol officers who are hard car driver qualified.
Following his Protocol career in Germany, Mr. Helvey went to Dugway Proving Ground to run his first Protocol Office on behalf of Army Test & Evaluation Command. After a short time, he was promoted to the Protocol Officer for U.S. Army Europe Mission Support Element Vicenza where he worked in the U.S. Army Africa / Southern European Task Force Protocol Office, traveling frequently to Africa to collaborate on conferences and exercises with multiple African Armies. Promoted again to the Deputy Director of Executive Services at U.S. Army North / Fifth Army, Mr. Helvey led the Protocol Division of the office and worked closely on security cooperation efforts with Mexico as well as Defense Support of Civil Authorities.
Mr. Helvey finished his civil service career in Rota, Spain, where he led protocol efforts for over 40 organizations and supported dignitaries from the highest levels of government from an assortment of countries. He has worked in Protocol positions in Arizona, Germany, Utah, Italy, Texas, and Spain and conducted business in Uganda, Cameroon, Senegal, California, Washington D.C., Colorado, Washington, and Indiana.
Mr. Helvey is a long-time American Football Coach, specializing in Linebackers and Wide Receivers, and is currently the Defensive Coordinator for the Rota Admirals.
Mr. Helvey has received a number of awards including the Army Superior Civilian Service Award (two awards), Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Army Commander’s Award for Civilian Service (four awards), and numerous Supervisor and Civilian of the Quarter Awards.
