Brenda Navarro is the Co-Founder and CDDO of GCPD.
Ms. Navarro, a native of Cádiz, Spain, has spent several years living abroad in Germany, Scotland, Ireland, and the United States, including a year in Columbus, Ohio. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Translation & Interpreting (English, German, and Italian) from the University of Las Palmas, a Master’s degree in Protocol & International Relations from the University of Granada, and a Master’s degree in Communication & Political Marketing from the International University of La Rioja. She is also a graduate of the Yale University Women’s Leadership Program, the International Diplomacy & Protocol Masterclass at the African Institute of Protocol, the NATO Protocol Course, and a Master’s program in Conflict Resolution from Dynamic Outreach Training. Additionally, she is currently training to become a certified Gestalt Therapist.
Ms. Navarro began her career in the airline industry as a Flightline Supervisor for Iberia Airlines, Air Europa, and British Airways in Spain and England. She transitioned into publishing as a translator before joining Naval Station Rota as a Translator/Interpreter in the Host Nation Liaison Office. She later advanced to Community Relations Coordinator and was ultimately promoted to Host Nation Protocol Advisor, a position she held for over a decade.
In 2024, Ms. Navarro left her role in the liaison office to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur. She co-founded Be Spain Savvy, a concierge and expat counseling agency dedicated to supporting individuals navigating life in Spain through interpretation and translation services, cultural advisory, and strategic partnerships. As the company’s Director of Communication and Public Relations, she leverages her extensive experience in protocol and intercultural communication to provide tailored solutions for her clients.
Her career includes a tenure as an Adjunct Professor for Protocol Studies at ESODE Business School in Madrid, where she taught in two master’s degree programs, ‘Comprehensive Organization of Events’ and ‘Design & Show Production’. She also served on the Board of Directors for Kubuka, a Non-Governmental Organization focused on entrepreneurship and educational programs for women in Kenya and Zambia.
Ms. Navarro’s contributions to the academic and professional world extend to her work as a translator. She has translated three textbooks for major publishing houses, including McGraw Hill’s ‘Child Development and Life Span Development’ and Pearson Education’s ‘The Promise of Educational Psychology’. Her expertise in accurately adapting complex concepts for international audiences has established her as a trusted professional in the field of translation.
Ms. Navarro has been recognized with the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award and numerous Letters of Commendation throughout her career.
